Shelby Strong Wings and Strings

There's a very special event taking place today in West, TX. It's the inaugural Wings and Strings event raising funds for the Shelby Strong non-profit based in central Texas.
Today's event features a host of songwriters headlined by Lucas Jagneaux and Sundae Drivers.

Last year I wrote about my friend Shelby Webre and her husband Scott. Shelby courageously fought cancer and lived with more purpose and passion than just about anyone I've ever met. I titled my article about her "Defining Galleywinter" because she represents everything this web community stands for.

Scott carries on in Shelby's stead. The heavy rainfall we've experienced over the last week put this event in jeopardy. Undeterred, Scott looked into having a helicopter come blow dry the gravel parking lot of The County Line Events Venue. I know Shelby smiled at that. As Texans do though, the WestFest folks stepped up and offered their grounds to hold the event.
