For more than 25 years, Texas music has been the soundtrack to my life.

What started as a college kid chasing songs around Central Texas eventually became a career, a community, and a calling. Along the way, I found myself backstage, behind the scenes, and sometimes right in the middle of moments that helped shape the Texas and Red Dirt music scene I love.
 

Still Here: My Life in Texas Music is my story, but it's also the story of the artists, venues, festivals, friendships, and fans that made the journey possible. It's about the rise of Galleywinter, the lessons learned along the way, the people we've lost, and the ones who continue to show up year after year.
 

At its heart, this book isn't really about music. It's about community. It's about belonging. And it's about the people who stay.
