THE HISTORY
River Jam is the annual summertime celebration of music, community, and the Texas spirit hosted by Galleywinter. Originally launched in 2002 under the name Green Fest in honor of Texas Music legend Pat Green, the event started humbly at George’s in Waco, TX. It was a gathering of fans, friends, and artists who shared a deep love for the Red Dirt and Texas Music scene.
Over the years, Green Fest evolved into what is now known as River Jam, a weekend long musical experience featuring some of the best emerging and established songwriters and bands in the region. Held at iconic venues like Cheatham Street Warehouse, Antone's, George's, and Lone Star Float House, River Jam blends unforgettable performances with floating the river, cold beverages, and authentic Texas vibes.
It’s not just a music festival, it’s a family reunion for those who believe in the power of song and the strength of this music scene. From the artists onstage to the fans in the crowd, River Jam is a reminder of where we’ve been, where we’re going, and the community that’s always along for the ride.
Two decades later, the spirit of that first night in Waco still echoes through every River Jam setlist.
