St. Jude Texas Music Calendar

As part of the Country Fans Care for St. Judes fundraising program, a 2011 calendar has been released featuring Texas Music luminaries from Robert Earl Keen, Randy Rogers Band and Miranda Lambert to Pat Green and Radney Foster.  The calendar costs $15 and 100% of the profits go to St. Judes for research to help the world’s sick children.

*On a personal note, as I documented in my “A Country Band From Texas Picked Me Up at Graceland” story (in the midst of being added to the archives), I had the tremendous opportunity to tour St. Jude.  As I noted at that time, we were all a bit weary of touring a place full of sick children while we were in the midst of having such a good time.  Selfish indeed, and our wonderful tour guide assured us that nearly everyone who gets the complete behind the scenes look we got feels the same way at first, but soon realizes that it is not a sad place at all…it is actually a place full of hope, love and happiness.  Those four hours changed my life as we met the children, nurses, doctors and administrators of this special place.  I vowed to get more involved with what they were doing and help with their mission any way I could.  So, when this press release cruised into our inbox, I didn’t hesitate to share it with y’all.  That $15 investment is going to a terrific place and I hope you have the ability to pick a calendar up and help them out.
