We are a Texas Music community first and foremost, but we've never discriminated about where good music or a good time comes to us from. Be it Oklahoma, Alabama, Kentucky, Idaho, Florida, Colorado etc. The past few years we've been connecting with the scene created out in Arizona. Fronted by Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, fostered by Drew Cooper and The Cole Trains, expanded on by JD Graham. It's a relevant, exciting foothold in roots music. The folks at Kimes Ranch agreed. They are hosting a unique rodeo event in Scottsdale, AZ at the end of November that just happens to have a phenomenal musical lineup. Zach Top is the top of everyone's favorite new artist list for 2024 and you will find him at the top of the poster for this event. He's joined by longtime Galleywinter favorite Josh Weathers and Drake Milligan. The music portion of this event would be enough to get anyone near the area to attend. But, don't skimp out on the rodeo portion of things.
The poster says it all. The largest single event payout event for women's rodeo athletes in history. That's big time stuff, hence the reason for the massive musical lineup. Breakaway roping, the fastest-growing event in rodeo, involves roping a calf by the neck, with the rope "breaking away" from the saddle once the calf moves a sufficient distance from the horse. The purse will be a million dollars. That's big time stuff for any place. If you're in Arizona at the end of November, go watch history and take in some of the best live music to be found anywhere.
