{Face the Music} October 26, 2005

Hello again my friends, it’s the newest edition of Face the Music – the weekly article that highlights a few shows from the past week, provides you with a heads up for CD releases, updates you with life events for band members and the Galleywinter family, and gives you a glimpse of upcoming events in the Texas/Red Dirt Music scene. Check back each week to keep up with the dirt in and around the scene!

Shows in Review: Micky & the Motorcars played at the Firewater Bar & Grill last Thursday night. You can read all about it here. If you missed the show, you can catch the band this Saturday night at Woody’s in Fort Worth!

The Lost Trailers played two shows at the State Fair of Texas last weekend. You can read the reviews as well as see the pictures and video here.

The Lost Trailers The 3rd Annual Ziegenbock Festival was held in Old Town Spring last weekend. There were many Galleywinter members in attendance, go see what they have to say about the event! Upcoming Events: You can see the Mike McClure Band in both Dallas and Austin this week. If you can’t make it to one of the shows, you can hear Mike along with No Justice and Doug Moreland on The Front Porch with Justin Frazell this Sunday from 6-9 PM. If you’re in the Dallas area, tune your radio to 99.5 FM or you can also listen online at 995thewolf.com!

The Clubhouse Concert Series at the White Elephant Saloon continues this week with Mark David Manders & Steve Tenpenny. If you’re in the Ft. Worth area on Sunday, head over to the Stockyards to see Miss Joni and the Clubhouse Girls.

This weekend at Gilley’s in Dallas: Brandon Rhyder will be performing on Friday night with the Josh Ward band opening, followed by Bleu Edmondson on Saturday night. Tickets are still available! Visit GilleysDallas.com for more information.

Brandon Rhyder Pat Green and Friends will be at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Selma, Texas this Saturday. Doors open at Noon and the music starts at 1:00 PM. The lineup includes Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Kevin Fowler, Randy Rogers, The Lost Trailers, Shooter Jennings, Hayes Carll, Wade Bowen, Drew Kennedy and Tons of Steel.

The Eli Young Band will be appearing at the Inferno in Denton on Friday night before heading west for a Saturday night show at The Ranch in Midland.

95.9 The Ranch is hosting a FREE show for its listeners this Saturday in Sundance Square. Jack Ingram, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Reckless Kelly, Deryl Dodd and Susan Gibson are among the artists scheduled to perform.

If you can’t make it to Sundance Square on Saturday, you can catch Reckless Kelly at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels on Friday night.

Reckless Kelly This Friday at the Firehouse Saloon in Houston Eric Brendan and Wade Bowen & West 84 will be playing, and Nee Nee is celebrating her birthday with them! Remember folks, she likes diamonds. Wink The Dirt: Congratulations to Josh Grider and Ryan Turner as they both debuted on the Texas Music Chart this week!

As we continue to wish nothing but the best for Jason Boland as he travels the road of recovery, the remaining Stragglers have filled up their down time with other projects. For the latest on where you can catch the guys, check out this thread.
