River Jam Artist Preview: Josh Weathers

Josh Weathers returns to our event as a bonafide headliner and a career picking up momentum at a rapid clip. Weathers refers to his music as “Texas soul music” and it’s definitely that.  Influenced as much by George Strait as by Prince or equal parts Delbert McClinton and Otis Redding, Weathers’ music showcases threads of country, rock, soul, funk and R&B.  Weathers is a showstopping guitar slinger and singer whose signature calling card is a rabble rousing live show that gets the party started no matter what setting he’s in.  This is an act that has both sold out Billy Bob’s and performed at the Trump inauguration.  Rowdy or formal…equally adept at both. Weathers went viral with his outstanding cover of Whitney Houston/Dolly Parton and decided to take a step back to focus on his family and mission.  But, he’s back on all cylinders now…using his music to further his causes and keep people grooving. They’ll be grooving on the mainstage to close out the Saturday of River Jam and if you don’t dance during a Josh Weathers set, you may not have a pulse.

Performance date/time:  Sat July 29 at River Road Icehouse.  Approx 10PM.

Years at event:  3
