Fresh perspectives are hard to come by in this music scene. Sometimes it feels like it’s all been said and done, then you hear a young songwriter like Garrett Bryan. It sounds familiar, yet new all at once. The type of songs anyone can dig into, but that those who appreciate deeper meaning in their songs can sink their teeth into. His debut studio project was released last year, Break the Levee, and it is a statement making debut effort. And like any debut, it’s rough around the edges yet full of enough promise to make you want to keep paying attention. Come pay attention at River Jam Sunday this year.
