Outlaw Legend and Americana singer songwriter Ray Wylie Hubbard is proud to announce the lineup for his 4th Annual Grit ‘n Groove Festival on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at WhiteWater Amphitheatre in New Braunfels, TX. Ray will be joined by artists Hayes Carll, Ben Kweller, Dirty River Boys, The Wheeler Brothers, Uncle Lucius, The Trishas, Sons of Fathers and Dustin Welch.
Ray Wylie Hubbard is a Texas-based singer songwriter who has released over 15 albums in the course of his career and is considered a leading figure in the Austin Cosmic Cowboy Outlaw Country Movement. His latest album, The Grifter’s Hymnal (Bordello), was released in 2012 and nabbed Ray praise from The Austin Chronicle’s Margaret Moser who called The Grifter’s Hymnal her top album of 2012 by an Austin-based artist. The acclaim isn’t unique to Austin however: Ray discovered a big fan in The Late Show’s David Letterman when he performed “Mother Blues” in January of this year and Letterman asked him to stick around and play “Screw You We’re From Texas”.
What makes Grit ‘n Groove so unique is the care taken to curate a festival that is representative of the Texas Americana resurgence sweeping across the state with Ray Wylie himself at the forefront. Ray started the festival in 2009 “to showcase songwriters whose music I felt had depth and weight and whose souls were in the right place with a low down, gritty and cool sound.” Previous years festival have included Joe Walsh, Chris Robinson, Tony Joe White, James McMurty and Carrie Rodriquez to name but a few.
Doors for Ray Wylie Hubbard’s 4th Annual Grit ‘n Groove Festival open at 3pm on Saturday, April 6, 2013. WhiteWater Amphitheater is located at 11860 FM 306 New Braunfels, TX 78132. This festival is a family friendly event. Lawn chairs encouraged – no pets or outside food and beverages allowed. Personally photography is permissible. Tickets on sale and available via whitewaterrocks.thudertix.com.
