Hello again my friends, it’s the newest edition of Face the Music – the weekly article that highlights a few shows from the past week, provides you with a heads up for CD releases, updates you with life events for band members and the Galleywinter family, and gives you a glimpse of upcoming events in the Texas/Red Dirt Music scene. Check back each week to keep up with the dirt in and around the scene!
Shows in Review: The fourth annual Fall Fandango was a huge success! You can see the setlists and read all about stellar performances by Hayes Carll, Shooter Jennings, The Randy Rogers Band, Dierks Bentley, Wade Bowen, Stoney Larue and, of course, Pat Green. Don’t forget to stop by the TX/Red Dirt Events forum to see pictures from the show!

Want to find out what’s happening in your neck of the woods? Visit the Texas/Red Dirt Events and Discussions forum for concert listings by area. CD Releases: Gary Allan’s latest album was released on Tuesday, October 11th. While the album is darker than in the past, it is a direct reflection of what he went through and the life he lived over the past year. Titled Tough All Over, you can find it at your favorite music stores… For all of the vinyl aficionados, Cross Canadian Ragweed’s latest album, Garage, was available yesterday as well. Even if you don’t have a player for a vinyl album, it’s still pretty cool just to have, and as someone pointed out, it’s much easier to get signed…
Honeybrowne’s new CD won’t be in stores until November 15th, but you can pre-order your copy now! The Dirt: Justin Boots is giving away a trip for two to Las Vegas to see Dierks Bentley and Cross Canadian Ragweed at the House of Blues. Visit Dierks’ forum for more information!
Michael Eli of the Eli Young Band stopped by Galleywinter on Monday to let us know what’s happening with the band. You can see what he had to say about their radio tour, new endorsements and their new single here. Just for fun: A new section for Face the Music – there are numerous places to turn for information in the scene – both on Galleywinter, and elsewhere, so we thought we’d provide you with a link or two each week that might put new and exciting resources at your fingertips… At many events in and around the State of Texas, you will see a guy shooting photos at every given opportunity. This guy is Todd Purifoy, and he has the ability to capture a moment on film like no one else can. You can visit his website, www.texasreddirtphotos.com to see his collection, or even better, purchase his recently released coffee table book which is available through his website or through www.lonestarmusic.com. It is an incredible book filled with pictures of many artists throughout the scene.
