Sake Fest Recap

The 3rd Annual Sake of the Song kicked off for us with a beautiful trip down US 281 from central Texas. Nothing gets me in the mood to listen to this music more than a cool roadtrip through the prettiest country God put in the United States. The sun was setting as we checked into our Canyon Lake resort and prepared to head to our 5th annual Randy Rogers Band function of some sort, and the 3rd Annual Sake Fest.

Sake of the Song Festival

There are festivals of all kinds across Texas and the nation, but so many of them have unfortunately devolved into a corporate shooting match to gouge the most cash out of the fans as possible. After playing all over the nation for the past seven years, Randy Rogers has been on the stages of just about every festival that can be found. Based on these travels, Randy decided to start his own festival that would be modeled on the lessons of his favorite festivals. Foremost, Randy wanted the focus to be on the song and the songwriter like it is at Larry Joe Taylor's Festival or the Kerrville Folk Festival.

Randy has achieved that goal with his 3rd Annual Sake of the Song Festival.
