If you are a little in the dark about GreenFest or even what Galleywinter is, here is a little history that will help you know why it's one of the best parties in Texas.

Six years ago the community of Galleywinter was beginning to take shape as a bunch of random people from Texas gathering on Pat Green's Bulletin Board to talk about how great Texas Music is. What we needed was a place to throw away the computer and get together, meet each other and enjoy some good live music. In February of 2001 we had our first GreenFest (named after the man that brought us all together) at Georges Bar and a tradition was born. Every year we throw a party for the fans to come out and meet each other and build a community that supports Texas Music and just enjoy themselves.

Every year brings something different to this party and every year it seems that more and more people get on board with the concept of meeting the person who is standing next to them at a show. After just two years the Greenfest crowd outgrew George's Bar. The third annual Greenfest brought us to the Coppertank in Austin and we soon realized that even that venue couldn't hold us for another year. In 2005 we settled into the River Road Icehouse in New Braunfels and threw two of our most successful events to date! Each year we gave away over 25CD's and a ton of shirts/hats/stickers/autographed stuff that was all donated by the artists and bands in this scene as a way of saying "Thank You" to the fans. Over the course of the last few years we have had bands like Django Walker, Micky and the Motorcars, The Lost Trailers, Stoney Larue, Brandon Rhyder, Mike Mancy, RyanTurner and well over 20 acoustic sets to entertain Greenfest crowds. Pat Green himself has even made it to the party a time or two when his schedule allowed.

This party is a celebration of good people, good music and good times. We're in the planning stages of the 6th Annual GreenFest and an announcement should come just after Thanksgiving with the details for this years party!
