My girlfriend lives in Nashville and works for one of the companies out there, on Saturday they had some kind of job fair thing...I don't listen that well Razz. But there were a bunch of record execs there and they were talking, one of the guys from Universal South said that there was a new band he had been looking into, said they were real popular in TX and OK, and he really liked their sound... little band called Eli Young, Wink

Now, part of me is excited that they will be gettin out there more, better promoted, etc...
But the other part of me thinks..."Sh!%, Nashville is gonna kill the band we love"
So my feelings are mixed...thoughts, comments, etc?

My comment is that after knowing and going to so many concerts and watching these guys since 2002. In the many times that I have seen them hung out with them and love the people and individuals that they are. EYB will never change no matter how huge they get. The reason is FANS. They will stay true to who they are small town kids and I know in my heart as a fan and friend they will sing and play every song as if it were there last. 100,000 miles or popularity mean nothing to these guys. Their here to sing for the fans and that's their bottom line_________________________.

I would think their style would fit just fine with a major label. To me, they already have a mainstream and somewhat popular sound, so that shouldn't change. The label may try to change who they write with or have them cut some songs that aren't their own, but I bet they stay essentially the same.

Universal South won't mess with their style, that is the reason why ragweed signed with them. They pretty much said we're not gonna sign a deal with you if you think you're change who we are. So I wouldn't worry about that happening. The only thing that will happen is EYB will take off like wildfire.

All I can say is the guys are who they are because of their dedication and hard work throughout the years. fun They have never given up and truly have worked so hard to make it big. I will admit the selfish part of me is sad that they have become who they are now and are fixin to explode! But I am so grateful that all of their hard work has paid off. I knew the first time I heard them several years back that this day would come, and as I said then I will say again....don't forget us little people when you hit stardom! These boys are the best, they are true to theirselves and to each other. They are driven from the heart and that is why you will see them on the CMA someday. They deserve it! If you have never had the experience of seeing these guys, you need to take a road trip. It will be worth every minute. You will be addicted, just as we are. I have driven across Texas many times to see them and of course everyshow in the metroplex. We still can not get enough of them. Hold on tho seat of your pants guys cause your fixin to take a big ride!! It is payoff time! Fun

Haven't seen them in a while but we get to this Friday!! HOB-Dallas.

This will be my 15 year old daughter's (Julia) 4th b-day seeing the boys. She can't wait to be in her same spot (between James and Mike) watching the concert!

Also, Mike....Happy B-day! A couple of days early! Happy Birthday We love EYB!!!! love

I've heard "when it rains" occassionally on the radio here in San Diego......
I can honestly say they are the only one from our scene that I've heard here.... hopefully they will help bring more of the music that we love into the spotlight....

EYB is gonna go huge in 08. Like cocaine in the 80s.

For the record... I'm still alive. Fun

I'm almost out of here too. I'm still waiting on orders but it could be as early as the first week of May or late June that I leave for the Air Force.

Shocked

Yep... its close. Thanks for the love and support though.
