Today in Music
One day like today...
1980
After 303 weeks on Billboard's album chart, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" became the longest-charting rock album of all time. It would stay on the chart for eight and a-half more years, finally dropping off after 741 weeks. Galleywinter stoners everywhere are happy!

1937
Singer/Guitarist/Actor Jerry Reed is born in Atlanta. Reed is most famous for his roles in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Water Boy". Galleywinter peeps will note that Cross Canadian Ragweed covers his "Amos Moses" on their Live at the Wormy Dog cd.

1951
Guitarist Jimmie Vaughan, Stevie Ray's brother and formerly of the Fabulous Thunderbirds is born.
