Venue: Tin Hall, Cypress, TX
Date: Saturday, November 29, 2003

Sparks and I made the run to Tin Hall last night to catch Cory and man I will tell you, he did not disappoint (as usual). We got there at about 8:15 (I started drinkin' at about 5) and the place was half empty. We went to the bar and got our drink on and then moved to our seats which were awesome. The place quickly filled with the Morrow Mob. Cory came on at 10:20 and proceeded to run through the baddest set that I have ever seen him play. The set list was as follows:

21 Days
Love Me Like You Used To Do
Texas Bound Train
Light On The Stage
Choices
Nashville Blues
Misty Shade Of Blue
Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way
Southern Nights
Nothin' Better
Medley:
The Man That I Have Been/Wrapped Up In Your Love/Not Coming Home Tonight
The Preacher
Texas Time Travellin'
Live Forever
Drinkin' Alone
Big City Stripper
Beer
Encores:
I'd Have To Be Crazy
Straight To Hell
Folsom Prison Blues
It's A Great Day To Be Alive

I know that was the set list because after they were done Dave Lyttle gave me Jessica Murray's sheet (thanks Dave). I was then lucky enough to get Jessica, John Carroll and Cory to sign the set list for me. That sucker will be getting framed and will be going on the wall. Highlights of the night for me were taking Sparks to her first Texas music gig. She dug it and I think we can expect to see her at more of these shows. She was on her feet the whole show having a good time. Which brings me to something that I want to talk about. What is up with all of these people that love to sit while a band is up kicking @ss? I for one cannot do it. Luckily the section that we were in was full of people that can't do it either. Cory several times tried to get the people directly in front of him to stand up and they wouldn't. He even called one guy out in particular to stand up and dance with his girlfriend. She was up and having a good time (and looking good) while this guy just sat. If you want to sit and listen you can always do that in your car or living room. Cory eventually got everyone (except for the one guy) up and the place was then out of control and rocking. Another funny thing that happened last night was when Cory slammed into "Big City Stripper". This gal behind and over from us reaches under her top and takes her bra off. She then proceeds to throw the bra at Cory but it falls short and hits some other gal square in the back of the head and falls to the floor. She turns to see what hit her in the head and gets this horrified look on her face. She points to it and her boyfriend is telling her to grab it and she's shaking her head no. The gal who the bra belonged to fights her way up and grabs the bra and throws it again and this time hits Cory perfectly. She then runs back to her table while Cory is fumbling around with the bra. He calls out to her to come on stage and she does and then puts the bra on Cory. Cory does his strip tease routine with it while did she nasty dance with him. The place was wild at that point. She ran back to her table getting high fives all the way. The whole show was pretty much a big party and the band was on like I have never seen them before. They were tight and into it. A perfect performance by Cory.....as usual.

On a side note. I took my camera with me and took 153 pictures. I am going to upload some of the pictures to here and also to my Yahoo Briefcase. I will post a link to that site here somewhere. I took a lot of pictures of fans that wanted their pictures taken. I turned a bunch of people on to Galleywinter and those people will most likely be coming here to view and pick up their pictures. It was amazing how many people came up to me and would ask me to please take their picture for them. I was getting handed e-mail addresses from people all night that just wanted a pic from the show. For anyone that was at the Fall Fandango, you should remember the two girls that Cory pulled out of the audience and let them sit on stage while he played. Those two girls, Morgan and Katie, were at Tin Hall last night and were having a really good time. Anyway, on my way out of the building I ran into them and mentioned that I recognized them from the Fall Fandango. They were excited that someone would recognize them. I told them that since they were semi famous in Texas music I would let them sign my hat. That made their night and they both signed it across the top. Everyone around thought it was cool, ha ha. Speaking of my hat, I think it's time to retire the 'Horns hat and start over. The hat is full now and I have been thinking that I should retire it and get a new one. I would be sick if something were to happen to this one. There are so many great shows and memories (and signatures) attached to this hat. What do y'all think? Is it dumb to retire this one and start over?

VENUE: Billy Bob's Texas, Fort Worth, TX
DATE: Friday, December 5, 2003
REVIEWER: Scott Beckius (Texas Outlaw)

Just wanted to start off by saying WOW! What a show Cory and the boys put on last night in Ft. Worth. The tickets that we were hooked up with got us up to the edge of the stage dead center in front of Cory. Ok, ok, here's the review that everyone has been waiting and e-mailing and PMing me for all day.
Sparks and I headed out for Ft. Worth at about noon. We got on the freeway and started listening to CDs for the long drive up to Cowtown. We got to Centerville and stopped to get something to drink and when we got out of the car the smell of BBQ was so thick that I couldn't resist. I have to tell you, if you are ever in Centerville stop and eat at Woody's Smokehouse. They have some of the best BBQ around. Old school style on waxed paper, no sauce needed, they do it right. Anyway, enough of the BBQ. We got back into the car and continued our way to Ft. Worth. While on the way I get a call from Leggs and she tells me that her and Rachel have decided to go to the show and that they will meet us and the rest of the gang for dinner at Los Vaqueros. That got us more stoked and made the rest of the trip go faster. We got checked into the Ramada Plaza downtown and got changed (but not before we had to change rooms and I got hurt, lol) and then we took a cab to the Stockyards where we walked around and then ended up drinking at the White Elephant Saloon. Check the photos section for a cool pic from the White Elephant. Anyway after that we walked up to Los Vaqueros and walked into the bar. To our surprise John Carroll and an assistant for the band were there drinking and having dinner. They were very friendly and we talked to them for a bit before leaving them to enjoy their dinner. We offered to buy John Carroll another drink but he slurred out that he had had enough and he was switching to coffee. Shortly after that the gang arrived and the party got into full swing. We had me, Sparks, Rachel, Leggs, Karina & Jeffe, Jessica & Dave, Amanderg and Mlesh and Clearman from the Cory board. We ate and drank and had some laughs before heading over to the world famous Billy Bob's for Cory's show. By this time Sparks was pretty lit on tequila and was feeling no pain. There are pics in the Galleywinter events album from Los Vaqueros. We got into Billy Bob's, drank a few more and then headed for our seats. Cory came on at about 10:30 and ran through the following set:
21 Days
Love Me Like You Used To Do
Texas Bound Train
Light On The Stage
Feels Like Love (new)
Nashville Blues
Misty Shade of Blue
Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way
Southern Nights
Nothin' Better
Medley:
The Man That I've Been/Wrapped Up In Your Love/Not Coming Home Tonight
The Preacher
Texas Time Travellin'
Live Forever
Drinkin' Alone
Choices (new)
Big City Stripper
Beer

Encores:
I'd Have To Be Crazy
Downtown
Straight To Hell
It's A Great Day To Be Alive

Thanks go out to Leggs for sending me the set list. Jessica Murray gave her the sheet from her side of the stage. Leggs eventually got every member of the band to sign it for her. Way to go Leggs. After the show we met up with Cory over at the Merch table. I was getting a t-shirt signed for CountryKid8 and mentioned to Cory that she would like to talk to him on the phone (she had been listening to the whole show via cell phone). He took the phone and proceeded to have a 15 minute phone conversation with her. Cory is the coolest. Not only did she get to listen to a Cory concert all the way out in California but she also got to get a signed shirt and have a conversation with him. The only thing better would have been to be able to go herself. Glad we got that hooked up for you Erin. All in all a GREAT night was had by all. the band was tight, the beer was cold and we got to hang with the best people in the world, Galleywinter people. We partied like rock stars and rode it 'til the wheels fell off. Thanks Tank and Aaron for the hook up on the tickets and the passes. You guys rock and I do not throw that term around lightly. Galleywinter is my home, thanks guys. I have posted some pics of Cory and the boys (and Jessica too) in the All Concerts album. Be sure to check them out. I also posted some pictures of fans that wanted their pictures taken. I gave out our address to a few people and they will probably be stopping by here to view and pick up their pics. We gained two more members this way after Tin Hall last weekand I think we will again this week. I don't mind taking pics for people at all, like I always say "if I am having fun, then everybody's going to have fun". Oh yeah, one more thing. A couple of people asked why I was wearing the 'Horns hat after I said that it was going to be retired last week. The answer is plain and simple, I am having hard time switching. Give me time. That sucker is going on the wall soon and a new one will be making the shows. I am also going to be getting a hat that will have nothing but Galleywinter signatures on it. you people are just as important to Texas music as the bands themselves and I want sigs from all of y'all on there. See you guys down the road. Turn it up, we're from Texas! Peace out.......

Venue: Zeigenbockfest, Spring Texas
Date: Saturday, October 18, 2003
Reviewer: Scott Beckius (Texas Outlaw)

Went to the Zeigenbockfest last night to check out Cory and I'll tell ya, he did not disappoint, but then again Cory never does. We (me and the twins)left Willis at 6:15 and got to the gig at 6:45. Steph and I had already started drinking and our designated driver, Jenn, did a fine of job of getting us a parking space close to the event. We walked in, grabbed four beers and headed for the stage that Cory would appear on. We get up to within 3' of the stage on John Carroll's side and wait for Cory. The time comes and the band hits the stage and opens with "I Wanna Go Home" from the first album. They play a little bit and then Cory comes screaming on and we're off to the races. The crowd really got into it and you could tell that Cory was feeding off of the excitement. I don't remember the exact order of all the songs but I think they played "Outside The Lines" second followed by "Love Me Like You Used To Do". By this time all we could see behind us was people as the place had filled up fast. Some people up front bailed and we got to move to the barricade. All in all Cory and the band were awesome. Very high energy and very tight. Cory, dude, you need to put out a new studio CD and please put your version of "Southern Nights" on there. Damn, that freaking kicks ass. Another highlight last night was when Radney Foster came on with Cory and they did "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way". Really cool. After Cory we walked over and checked out a little bit of Charlie Robison before leaving to walk around and drink more beer. We ran into some more friends from Conroe and then headed to Cory's merchandise table to pick up a couple of t-shirts and talk with the guys at the table. Steph and I left to get more beer and when we come back Jenn is gone. She returns a short time later and her t-shirt is now signed by Cory. It seems that she talked the t-shirt guys into letting her backstage and onto Cory's bus. Way cool. She hasn't stopped talking about it since. Steph and I ran into Johnny Marshall (keyboard player) and Jessica Murray. Got both of them to sign my 'Horns hat. We will be out at the show next Friday at Sam Houston Racepark. For anyone that hasn't seen Cory in a while you need to get out there and see him. The band is tighter than ever. If anyone from the board is going let me know and let's hook up and drink a few. I will be out there with the twins (hey Michael, the one dumped her boyfriend again so she's back......)and we would like to meet some of y'all from here.

Venue: The Innkeeper, Wharton TX
Date: Feburary 27, 2004
Reviewer: Scott Beckius (Texas Outlaw)

We made the run to Wharton yesterday/last night/early this morning and I will tell you, Cory and the band did not disappoint. What a show last night at The Innkeeper. Cory was on fire from the first song all the way through to the meet and greet at the bus.
We left Willis yesterday at about 4:30 and went to Houston to meet up with WildCntrySC and his brother at Craig's apartment. We left Sparks' car there and all jumped into a pretty cool rental van that Craig had and started our run to Wharton. At that point it was me, Sparks, my sister Kathleen (visiting from Nevada) and Craig's brother from Pennsylvania (Craig, help me out here, I can't remember your brother's name because of all that Crown & Coke). We got on 59 and headed south to Wharton. After we got into town and got un-lost (thanks Michael Baronowski) we made it to the downtown area and to the gig. We met up with Michael Baronowski and headed over to the Pat A Cake resturaunt for some dinner. The hostess takes us to our seats and sits us where else but right next to Cory and the band. We ate dinner, had some drinks and joked around before heading across the street to The Innkeeper at about 9 o'clock. The first act was supposed to be Mike McClure but I guess he cancelled earlier in the day. (this was pointed out to me by Dave). A local guy filled in for McClure. After that it was time for the main event. Cory came on at 11:30 and ran through one of the best sets that I have ever seen him do. He started off with "Texas Time Travellin'" and then slammed right into "I Wanna Go Home". After that the order of the songs was a blur but I can tell you that he did ALL of the standards plus some really old stuff and three new songs, one of which was played for the first time last night. We also got a big surprise at the end of the set when Cory and John Carroll were alone on the stage. John starts playing the opening to PG's "Wave On Wave". Cory joins in with the first verse and the crowd took over from there. I am telling you, it was bad @ss. They did about half of the song before the whole band returned to the stage and they slid into "Nashville Blues". Other highlights of the show were Sparks getting hired by Cory to be his hair stylist. She did a good job and Cory was happy. Also when all of the shots and beer were getting passed up and Cory was like "hold it!" Also, meeting up with Caroline and Jason from here at GW and SueHill too. We need to get together more often. Last night was way fun. After all of that we were off to the bus for a little meet and greet. My sister had never gotten the chance to meet Cory and was thrilled to get the chance to talk to him and get a couple of pictures taken.
Speaking of pictures, for the couple of fans that had me take their picture for them, they are going to be posted in the Photo section of Galleywinter shortly. You can go there to pick them and while you're here why don't you just register and stick around, we would love to have you here at Galleywinter.
After the show it was time for the ride home. Luckily, Sparks didn't drink at all and she got the nod as the designated driver for the ride home. She did a fine job of getting us home safely, even with the wrong way trip down a one way street in Houston, ha ha. We dropped Craig and his bro off at home and then we finally got home at 4:30. A long run but well worth it. Next weekend it's a run to Ft. Worth to hang with Schyler and crew at Billy Bob's. If anyone else is making that run let me know and let's party a little.

Turn It Up, We're From Texas!

Venue: Billy Bob's Texas in Ft. Worth
Reviewer: Scott Beckius (Texas Outlaw)

Man, what an awesome time we had last night. Me, Sparks and Squeaky the Smurf (my daughter Cody) made the run up to Ft. Worth to catch Cory at Billy Bob's. We left Willis at 4 pm and got into town at about 7:30 (after stopping along the way for some mouth watering BBQ at Woody's Smokehouse in Centerville). We checked into our hotel and started making calls to find out where the gang was. Incidentally, our hotel was the Hotel Texas in the Ft. Worth Stockyards. This hotel was the hotel that John F. Kennedy stayed in the night before he was assasinated. Just a bit of history trivia for you. Anyway, we made some calls and got a hold of Leggs, Jocelyn and Jwhita and then we walked up to Los Vaqueros for some food, drinks and laughs. After enjoying each other's company and getting warmed up a little (and bumping in to Jessica Murray and her husband Seth James) we all piled into Leggs' car and made our way over to Billy Bob's for the show. There we met up with Rachel and TCUGirl and made our way to our seats which were at table A12, right at the edge of the stage directly in front of Cory's mic stand. Leggs, you rock girl! Just before Cory comes on we were joined by Sharpie. We got our first order of beer and then the show started. I am pretty sure that this was when I called DJ out in San Diego so she could hear Cory coming on. I have to say, that was one of the most exciting show openings that I have ever seen. It closely rivaled when Cory took the stage at last year's Fall Fandango for excitement and hype. We could barely hear what the announcer was saying as Cory took the stage and then he and the whole band slams into "Texas Time Travellin'". We were off to the races. The set list was as follows:

Texas Time Travellin' Texas
I Wanna Go Home (I wish he would re-release this song with it's new arrangement)
Outside The Lines
The Highway
Light On The Stage
The Man That I've Been
Choices
Nashville Blues
Southern Nights
Stuck In The Middle With You
The Preacher
Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way (and a wild version at that)
Love Me Like You Used To Do
Straight To Hell
Nothin' Better
21 Days
Big City Stripper
-----------------------
Cory came back out alone and did:
Downtown (the REK classic)
GTMO Blues
The whole band came back out and did:
Beer (again, a WILD version, beer flying all over the stage and out at our table, sorry if I got it on you Rachel!)

About three songs into the set, Sharpie taps me on the shoulder and asked if Cody (my daughter) would like to go up on stage with him while he took photos for the band. Cody was like Y E A H! She goes with Sharpie and in no time she had the best seat in the house and was on the side stage watching Cory and the band just burn Billy Bob's down. The smile on her face was a mile wide. Sharpie, thanks brother. That was way cool of you. You are one awesome friend. It was also about this time that BigJoeBaby came up out of the crowd and taps me on the shoulder and then introduced himself. It was great to meet you man. Glad you made it to the show and had a good time. We will have to hook up and do a show or two in the near future. Lemme know and I am there. After Cory's R O W D Y set it was time for some meet and greet over at stage left. I ran into Summer and her friend Clair and we went down to meet Cory and get some pictures taken. I also took pics of a lot of people who didn't have a camera and just wanted their moment with Cory saved for them. I have all of the pics and they all came out good. I haven't quite figured out how to post a photo on the new site yet B U T, you can e-mail me at sbeckius @ earthlink.net and I will gladly send your pics to you. Summer, I got two of you and Clair and they came out really, really good. Wait 'til you see these. For all of y'all that I talked to and took pics of that weren't Galleywinter members last night, why don't you sign up and join our little family while you are here reading this? We would love to have you.
I would like to add that one of my highlights last night was introducing my daughter to Jessica Murray and Seth James. They are such a nice couple. They were very gracious and took the time to actually talk to Cody and sign her shirt for her. Thanks you guys, you made Cody's night. She has waited a very long time to meet Jessica and last night was perfect. Another highlight for me was after the show when we were backstage clowning around with John Carroll. John said that he was going to sign up for Galleywinter and that he would post here to this forum. Come on John, join up! We also had a lot of fun talking with and just hanging out with Todd, Dave and Mike. Man, good times last night, good times.
Next weekend it's the horse races at Sam Houston Racepark in Houston. Cory is there and goes on at 11. So far we have me, Sparks, PurfectTxGurl, Irishdawg (all the way from Georgia), HoustonRednckGirl and a bunch of non Galleywinter crazies that I hang with up here in Willis. If anyone wants to join up with us feel free to PM me and I will send you my cell number, the more the merrier.
Until then, stay safe and keep listening to and supporting Texas musicians. Peace out.

TURN IT UP, WE'RE FROM TEXAS!!!! Texas

Man, what a day/night we had yesterday. I got up to go to work yesterday and felt like death but went to work anyway. I got off work and still felt terrible so I went home and thought that maybe I should cancel out on this show. I laid down and fell asleep only to awaken two hours later realizing that Cory and his crew were 10 miles from my house and the party was on. Susan and I got ready real quick, I popped a Cory CD in the player and we were off to Huntsville and The Jolly Fox. As we are parking the car I roll the window down and can hear Bleu Edmondson belting out "It's Alright", suddenly I didn't feel so bad anymore. We walk in and immediately I can tell Galleywinter is in full effect and in the house as LeBoat is the first to greet us at the gate with a big hug and a smile. She shows us to the beer stands and we run into Jody Booth, WldCntrySC and Dcains. It was on then. I got started on beer while Susan got started on Devil Juice (Jaeger). It was at the Jaeger stand that we ran into Jocelyn, imagine that. Urtz and Mudshovel joined in and the GW party was on. I have no idea how many beers and shots were consumed. Let's just say that when I saw my bar tab I was like After Bleu's set we hung out for a while and managed to find Junebug (where's Shep!) and we also stopped and visited with Bleu's Mama before wandering inside and ordering more drinks. We got a chance to talk with Cory and Dave for little bit. Dave, as usual, always good to see you. Congrats on the upcoming wedding. A short time later the man, Seth James and his crew took the stage. This was the first time that I have been able to catch Seth James live. I was like this when he started lettin' that guitar have it. Daayyuuuuummm! If you get a chance to see him live, don't waste it, you won't be sorry. After Seth's blistering set it was time for Cory. Sparks and I manuvered ourselves to the edge of the stage right in the center. Just before Cory is ready I get a tap on the shoulder, I turn around and it's my fellow outlaw and partner in most of this mayhem, Ruddfan. Rudd summed it up pretty good when he said, "this place is fixing to explode". You could just feel the excitement, tension and electricity in the crowd. George gets up there and annnonces that it's time for Cory Morrow and the place did just what Rudd said it would, exploded. The band hits the stage and doesn't waste any time slamming right into "21 Days". It's on and we're right in the middle of it, just the way I like it. The set list was as follows:
21 Days
I Wanna Go Home
Stayin' Out Late
Light On The Stage
The Man That I've Been
The Highway
Red Bandana
Nashville Blues
Southern Nights
Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way (joined onstage by Wade Bowen and Mark Sanders)
Texas Time Travellin'
Live Forever
Drinkin' Alone
Straight To Hell
Nothin' Better

Cory Came out alone and did:
I Must Be Crazy
Downtown
The band came back and they closed with:
Big City Stripper
Beer
During "Beer" Cory got carried away with the Jaeger and swan dived right into the crowd at the right side of the stage. Galleywinter peep Mudshovel saved the day and kept Cory from hititng the floor, good job Alex!
The set list above was compliments of Dave Lyttle. Thanks Dave, there is no way that I could have remebered that. Somewhere in there Cory and the band did slip in Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away". It wasn't on the set list so it must have been unplanned. Another thing that wasn't planned was the Guitarmageddon that went down when Frenchy from West 84 came up and borrowed a guitar from Glen Shankle. Keep in mind that Frenchy is left handed. He takes Glen's guitar and flips it upside down and then proceeds to get into this monster guitar duel with John Carroll. All I can say to that is That was bad ass, enuff said.
After Cory's set we all kind of hung out while Sparks swiped a GIANT Cory poster from the edge of the stage. I gotta hand it to her, she rocks. This thing is 10 feet wide and 4 feet tall, it's HUGE! We haven't decided what to do with it yet, more details later. Stay tuned. On our way out we again ran into Junebug and this time we knew where Shep was, ha ha! Shep, good to see you. I will get a hold of you just before that Nebraska PG show. Thanks brother! Outside, it was just mayhem, people eating, drinking and just having fun. How about, "hey Outlaw, we're all going to Jocelyn's house to watch porn, you wanna go!" for the saying of the night. Gotta love my GW peeps, we are the party! Craig, Laura, Jocelyn, Alex, Paul, June, Shep, Danny, Jody, Gird, let me just say that Susan and I absolutely love hanging and partying with y'all. We ALWAYS have fun with you guys. Thanks for being the awesome people that you are. Next weekend it's Greenfest and you know that party is gonna rock. Jody was telling me last night that he's pumped and ready, oh yeah The weekend after that it's Cory in Burton. It's me and Cory's birthday, ha ha! We've got a pretty good crew signed up for that run. If anyone else wants in just let me know.

Jocelyn, once you get settled in at your house in Conroe give us a hollar and let's all do dinner somewhere. I am thinkin' some Babin's in The Woodlands sounds good . Let's hook it up!

Alissa, it was great seeing you again yesterday. We wished that you could have stayed to watch Cory with us but we understand totally. Jump on here and post! For those of you who don't know who Alissa is, that was her daughter that was rocking so hard to Bleu at the edge of the stage yesterday. That little girl knows how to rock!

For those of you that I was supposed to call from the show last night. I apologize. My phone couldn't get a signal in that place. I will hook you up with a call from Burton.

That's all for now. Until next time, peace out!

TURN IT UP, WE'RE FROM TEXAS!

One more thing and then I am gone, I promise.
I'm bigger than Elvis baby!

My GW buddys know what's up.

Venue: Burton Cotton Gin Festival, Burton TX
Date: May 1, 2004 (Cory & Outlaw's birthdays)
Reviewer: Texas Outlaw
The BEST birthday that I have EVER had in my life, hands down. I can't even begin to describe how awesome May 1st was. We left Willis at about 11:30 AM in the middle of a driving thunderstorm that dropped 6" of rain on us. I was thinking that the day was ruined but we started out driving west towards Burton in hopes that the skies would clear and maybe the day would turn out good. Well, that paid off as by the end of the day everyone had mile wide smiles on their faces. We got to Burton and to Ruddfan's mom's house at about 1:30 in the afternoon. It had stopped raining but was cold and windy. We got settled into our rooms at Rudd's and then we headed down the Cotton Gin Festival site in Burton. We got downtown and it was decided that we would all go to the Burton Cafe and have a bite to eat before going into the festival. We get in and get seated and we are there about 10 minutes when I look up and see Cory and the whole band and his crew come through the door. Cory spots us and the first thing that he says is "hey, is it your birthday too?". I told him that indeed it was my birthday. At that point all of the patrons in the resturant (and it was packed) proceeded to sing Happy Birthday to Cory and I. We then toasted each other and the party was on. After eating we told Cory and the crew that we would see them later and we headed into the festival. I have to say, I love these small town festivals. The people are friendly, the beer is always cold, the food is great and it just a lot of fun. We walked around, drank beer and watched the tractor pulls while the kids ran and played. A short time after we got there I got a call on my cell from WildCntrySC and was advised that he was in town and was ready to party with us. Woohoo, The Outlaw's crew was in effect! We met up with Craig, Donna and Houston and partied. The crew on hand was:
Me
Sparks
Cody
Michelle (Cody's friend. This was her first Cory show)
Carmen (her first Cory show)
Nikolas (his first Cory show)
Ruddfan
Melissa (dancerchick)
Aubrie
Kathleen (my sister who flew in from Nevada for this)
Brian (Kathleen's husband, also his first Cory show, my sis is a veteran)
Craig
Donna
Houston

We could hear the sounds of instruments being set up so we all wandered over to the stage and watched Cory's band and crew set up their equipment. We are all drinking beer and hanging out when all of the sudden the band slams into "Southern Nights" with John Carroll on vocals. It was a preview of what was to come and it smoked, literally. I could just tell that this would be one of those nights. After their load in and set up it was time for some live music from the Texas Unlimited Band. These guys play covers mostly and they aren't too bad. They played a wide mix of country favorites, a lot of Pat Green amd even some Average White Band. It was pretty clear to see though who the crowd was there to see. Just before Cory took the stage we ran into Dave Lytle. Dave was fresh back from his honeymoon and made it just in time to watch Cory and the boys take the stage at 10:30 PM. We were right at the edge of the stage in the center when Cory came on and the band slammed into "Texas Time Travellin'". The crowd was wild and the party was on. I looked back behind me and all I could see was people going wild for about a block up the street. Cory packed them in. I didn't remember to grab a set list after the show but I do remember what Cory played. The first few songs are in order and then they are random but this is what he played:

Texas Time Travellin'
Love Me Like You Used To Do
Not Fade Away (with Seth James on guitar, man that smoked)
Outside The Lines
Red Bandana
The Preacher
The Power of Love (new song)
The Man That I've Been
Runnin' Around On Me
Choices
At this point Cory took time to introduce me to the audience and wished me a happy birthday from the stage. He told the crowd that I was from Galleywinter.com, HOLLA! Thanks Cory. You kick ass bro!)
Straight To Hell
John and the band played a Ricky Skaggs tune while Cory "rested", ha ha.
Light On The Stage
Southern Nights
Encores:
Nashville Blues
The Road Goes On Forever
You Shook Me All Night Long (yes, the AC/DC classic)
Big City Stripper
Beer (this song went out to The Outlaw from Galleywinter, com, yeah baby!)

One of the cool things that happened throughout the show was when Cory would come over to the edge where we were. He would grab Cody and Michelle's hands and dance with them. Every time he did it people would just go crazy. The girls ate it up too. Made them We watched most of the show from the edge in front but for the encores we went backstage and watched from the wings. Cory had the crowd worked into a frenzy. I have some great photos that I took from that vantage point and you can see just how wild it was getting. I will post them into my photo album when I get some time. After Cory came from the stage he walked right up to where we were and just hung out with us. The guy is so friendly and so cool, words just cannot describe. I want to thank Cory, Goose, Dave and Todd. Man, you guys are the freaking best. Last night was awesome, thank you. Susan, you so rock babe. Thanks for being the best. I am still in awe of what you pulled off and managed to keep secret. You kick ass. Paul, dude, thank you. You and Melissa are top notch people. I cannot thank you enough for what you did for me this weekend. For all those who don't know, we stayed at Paul's mom and dad's house in Burton. They gave us a very nice guest house to stay in and Paul's mom cooked us an awesome breakfast this morning. Thank you Francis, you are the BEST!

To everyone else, Cory has several shows coming up that will be good ones. San Antone, Austin, Ft Worth, these are all shows that you won't want to miss. Cory and the band have been ON FIRE for weeks now and they keep getting better and better. Go out there and see them and help support these guys. They truly do appreciate their fans and all we do for them. Let's help Cory keep this going!

Until next time, peace out!

TURN IT UP, WE'RE FROM TEXAS!

Venue: Gatorfest - Anahuac, TX
Date: Sept. 11, 2004
Reviewer: Ruddfan - Paul

We started off the day with my son's football game while the boys played with heart but they ran out of gas and lost by 6. we went home got everyone cleaned up and rested about mid afternoon I got a call from Scott and he told me that he was sick and may not make the run. Well by this time I was starting to get pumped about seeing my boy Cory so there was no way we were going to sit this one out. We load up the kids and hit the road about 5pm and headed south, and after a short drive with all of us having a sing-along we roll into GatorFest at about 6:30. We walk around and check out all of the arts and crafts then exchange our cash for Gator coins and head to the midway. The kids ride a few rides and we watch the airboats for a short time. Its now about 8:00 and we head over to get some good fair food. After we eat we start walking around again and the kids find this old school tall metal slide and go to town. The slide is right next to a small side stage and there is a cover band playing so we let the kids slide for awhile and sat down and took a listen. After a few songs the band breaks into Wave on Wave my whole family sings along while sliding down the slide and playing. I look at my watch and say lets head over to the main stage. We get to the main stage in time to see the last 30 minutes of Honeybrowne's set. They rocked. I need to see these guys when they are a headline act. Our plan was to get to the stage early enough that we could get our spots down front, but not so early that the kids would get restless. It worked out perfect! We found ourselves right down front in front of John Carrol. There were a few chairs there that we got for the kids to stand in so they could see better. After a short change over of the set the boys were ready to go. The band kick off with Mercenary and went right into Texas Time traveling. The look on my kids faces was priceless. The band played a great set and it was good to see them again. I can not say enough about the people that were at the edge of the stage with us. They looked after our kids like they were thier own. They picked our kids up and put them on thier shoulders and gave them high fives and showed them the true spirit of a Cory show. About half way though the show our youngest fell asleep in my melissa's arms, and about three quarters of the way though it looked like my oldest was begining to slow. I thought we may have to leave but Melissa said she would go get us some water and the nice lady beside us held Aubrie while she made the run. Just a few minutes after she left my middle one falls asleep while sitting on my shoulders. I move over to the edge of the merch table and place him under an empty table being used to block off the back stage area and the merch table. I go back in to get Aubrie about the time Melissa shows up with an arm full of water. We pull back to where I placed Aaron and drink up. The water peps everyone back up and Arron is back on my shoulders rocking out again. About three songs from the end of the show Melissa gets tap on the shoulder and we are invited back stage to watch the end of the show from the stage. I talked to our man Dave and he hooked me up with two copies of the set list. Thanks Dave, you rock! The band burns down Nothing better and Magic carpet ride to end the show. Just before the band comes off stage we are asked to go back out front and told Cory will come out front shortly. After the end of the show we are standing at the edge of the merch table waiting for Cory to come out when the kids take off running with set list in hand. They had seen John Carrol breaking down his equipment and went to get his sig. They come back all smiles and then Aaron breaks out in a run again and I call after him and he stops turns around and yells "But I see Bobby!" Well I can't argue with that now can I? My kids ended up with two set list full of autographs! They rock! Cory comes out and I shake his hand and tell him thanks for everything and tell him Scott was going to come but got sick and Cory tells me to tell Scott Hi and get well. Well thats about it, we load up and head home. Both my 9 yr old and my 3yr old told me Cory has a cute tushy! The whole night was awesome. Seeing my kids enjoying thier first Cory show made me

Here is the set list.

Mercenary
Texas Time Travlin
live 4ever
Drink Alone
Outside the lines
Wrapped Up
Light on the Stage
Restless Girl
Southern Nights
Nashville Blues
21 Days
Misty
Hank
Big City
Great Day
Nothing Better
Magic Carpet

Venue: Zeigenbockfest, Old Town Spring, TX
Date: 9/25/04
Reviewer: Texas Outlaw

What else can I say? All week long I was saying on the boards that I just had this feeling that this weekend's show was going to be one of those magic ones that happens every once in a while. We had the countdown going and the anticipation was building all week. The Cory Morrow Band delivered the goods yesterday like only they can.

We got to Preservation Park in Spring yesterday and we checked out the Eli Young band first. They are bad ass. If you get a chance to catch them don't miss it. After Eli Young's set we met up with some fellow GW peeps and had a few beers while waiting for Wade Bowen & West 84 to take the Budweiser stage. We rocked to them and made a few DDs before meeting up with TxLadyBug (Jenn). We found us a spot in the shade and visited and had a few cold ones and then wandered over to the Zeigenbock stage to catch Randy Rogers. Dayyuuumm! Randy can turn it on. I think I DD'd Spunky during Randy, 10 Miles Deep baby! After Randy it was time for Drew Womack on the Bud stage. We skipped Drew and staked us out a choice spot in front of Cory's stage. We had a full group of GW's at the edge of the stage. There was:

Me
Sparks
Squeaky
Rudd
Dancerchick
TxLadyBug
Michelle & Jeremy
Ms. Glitters and her sister Candace (love ya Crystal!)
Jocelyn
Lavinia
Spooty
Laura
Ting
Putter
CJ
Renee
Mudshovel
BigJoeBaby

We also had a few friends of The Outlaw that aren't GW members. Craig, Debbie and Michelle from Willis....HOLLA! Supa Kruppa.....HOLLA! We were in full effect right down in front. You could just FEEL the electricity as the band was setting up. John Carroll came over and was talking to us as they were setting up. He said "y'all are in for it". Oh yeah, we knew it.

The band hits the stage a little late as Drew Womack ran over a little. That's ok though, it just built the anticipation a little more. The announcer comes out and introduces Cory and the band just SLAMS into "Mercenary" at full throtle. I am telling you, I have NEVER seen them play this song like they did yesterday. John Carroll and Glen Shankle tradin' guitar licks back and forth across the stage and Cory just growlling the lyrics out. The crowd by now was huge and for as far back as we could see it was nothing but pure madness. You gotta love it. The set list was as follows:

Mercenary
Texas Time Travellin'
Love Me Like You Used To Do
Outside The Lines (Aubrie, you rock little girl!)
Light On The Stage
The Man That I've Been
Nashville Blues
Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way
Restless Girl
21 Days
Big City Stripper
Magic Carpet Ride

"Nothin' Better" was on the set list but was scratched and didn't get played.

Now for the highlight of the day. We are two songs into the set. Cory is taking a little breather and is talking to the crowd. Rudd and Dancer hold their daughter Aubrie (she is 3) up for Cory to see. Aubrie had hand colored a picture for Cory and she wrote on it "To Cory" on the top. She is holding it out when Cory spots her. He walks over to where she is, takes the picture, holds it up for all to see and then plants a kiss on Aubrey's cheek. The crowd is roaring now. Cory tells everyone that the picture is the "best likeness of him that he has ever seen" and says "these things are the important things in life". He then says "it's all right to color outside the lines" and the band just slams right into that song. The smile on Aubrey's face was priceless. I have to admit, that had The Outlaw all sappy and choked up. It does right now as I write about it. See what I mean about "magic" at shows? This was one of those moments. After Cory's set I was backstage as the band was packing up. Cory had the picture and was showing it around. He then neatly folded it up and put it in his pocket. He was telling people that it was a gift from one of his fans. Good job Aubrie!

Another highlight yesterday was when Jack Ingram walked on stage with Cory and they did "Hank" together. Jack is a Texas legend and to see him up there with Cory, man, icing on the cake baby!

This was a great show. These words cannot possibly convey to you what a great time we had. Awesome friends, cold beer, awesome music. What more could you ask for? We even made a new friend yesterday in Jenn (TxLadyBug). Jenn, it was great meeting you. We would love to go to a some more shows with you. Keep in touch and let's make it happen. You rock like no other!

Erin (CountryKid8)), I have a little souvenier from the show for you. It's nothing big but it's something that I saw on the fence that I thought that you might like to have so I ripped it down and brought it home. I will get it in the mail to you. And oh, they know that the bus hijacking plans were all YOUR idea. Cory said he will find you. I was forced into telling all I knew, I blamed it all on you.

A special shout out goes to BigJoeBaby. Dude, you went way beyond the call of duty for me yesterday. Thank you very much my friend. HOLLA!

I guess until next time, that's it. Keep it real and keep it loud. Get out and see the Cory Morrow Band, no one burns the boards up like these guys. They are the hottest live band in Texas, hands down.

TURN IT UP, WE'RE FROM TEXAS!

Where do I start with this? Last night, after Cory had finished, I told Rudd that I would get up early this morning and write a little review of last night. I told him that I was going to have trouble accurately describing what we had just seen and experienced and I am still having that problem this morning. How in the world can I possibly describe what very well may have been the single most best show that I have ever seen ANY artist put on in my ENTIRE concert going career? There is no way that I can possibly write up what happened and catch the magic that went down last night. I was talking to DJ on the phone just before the show started and I told her that I had this feeling that this show would be one of those magic ones that just happens every once in a while. I was right. From the moment we walked into El Arroyo to the time when Susan and I got home at 4 in the morning, the whole experience was nothing short of magic.

Susan and I got a late start and battled Houston traffic for over an hour but thanks to Junebug's expert cell phone navigation, we finally made it to El Arroyo at around 6:30. We get there and walk in and the first people we see are Elaine and Junebug and Craig sitting there at the bar. A little ways down from them is Dave & Katie and John Carroll. Jenn and Rachael and Adam Campbell arrived soon after we did and joined our group. There was also a few other people just kind of hanging out and having a good time. We say our hellos and order a couple of drinks and some food and we are just starting to eat when I feel someone hugging me from behind. I turn around and it's no other than Cory himself and he has this wicked smile on his face and you could just tell that he was in the zone. He sat and talked with all of us for about a half an hour or so before he asked the bartender to set EVERYONE in the place up with a drink. It was packed in there by that point and we had fun watching that bartender set up drinks for about 30 people. It was also fun to watch the people that were there in the bar that had no idea who Cory was or what the occasion was. We filled them in and I am hoping that maybe those people will go and buy a CD today. Anyway, everyone gets their drinks and Cory holds a Christmas toast and the party is on. We finished our drinks (and shots) and then we all headed around the corner to The Firehouse. We get there and the place isn't very crowded at all. Once we got all settled into our little spot near the bar we called DJ and we held our own Christmas toast. DJ, I hope you could hear us over the noise and the background buzz. You are a member of the Cory Crew and we wanted to make sure that you got in on the fun. After our toast, it was time for Mark Sanders to come on and warm the crowd up. Mark did a hell of a job and I have to say, his band kicks ass. Mark even threw Galleywinter a shout from the stage. You've got to love that. I can't wait for another chance to catch Mark live again. If you haven't yet then you need to get your butt out to a show and catch him. He never disappoints, ever.

After Mark's set it was time for Cory. The band gets set up and is ready to go. We are all at stage edge. Me, Susan, Craig, Paul & Melissa, Junebug, Elaine, Rachael, Jenn and Adam Campbell have the best spot in the house and we are ready. The band comes in the door and they take their spots. As soon as Hoyt sits down behind the drum kit he starts pounding them skins and right away I recognize the song as Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away". The rest of the band just slams into it and Cory jumps onto the stage and the crowd (the place is jam packed by now) just goes absolutely wild. I have never heard a crowd go that crazy at a Cory show. From stage edge all the way to back and up in the balcony all you could see and hear was people that were fired up. Cory Morrow was back at the Firehouse and he was turning it on. I think I DD'd Tori while this was going on. It was either Tori or Erin. I don't know if y'all could hear or not. The band and the crowd were both really loud. After a blazing version of "Not Fade Away" and a band introduction (yeah, in the FIRST song), the band falls into the following set list. The set list is a story in itself. Dave told me shortly before the show started that they had a really hard time writing the set list because of our song request thread yesterday. I think everyone got to hear what they wanted. Here it is:

Mercenary
Texas Time Travellin'
I Wanna Go Home
Love Me Like You Used To Do
21 Days
Outside The Lines
Angela
She Don't Know Where She's Goin'
Light On The Stage
The Man That I've Been
The Highway
Restless Girl
Southern Nights
Nothin' Better
Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way
Straight To Hell
Big City Stripper

At this point, the band exited and Cory came out to tell a story about his first apperance at the Firehouse. He then played a new song acoustic, "The Best Low". The band returned and they finished off with:
Nashville Blues
Magic Carpet Ride

Now that isn't the entire set list. There were a couple of audibles called in that were played. How about a wicked version of "Sittin On The Dock of The Bay"? Or how about "East Bound & Down" with John Carroll on lead vocals? How about Alabama's "Dixieland Delight"? There were a couple of other surprises during the set too. Like just before they did "21 Days". The band was joined onstage by Roger Creager for that one. See what I mean about magic? It got better. A little bit later we see another familiar face in the backstage area. Randy Rogers is back there. Cory brings him out and they do an awesome version of "May The Circle Be Unbroken" with everyone on stage. Yep, our jaws were draggin' the floor. Magic, pure magic.

Like I said in the beginning, there is no way that I can write up last nights show and convey what the feel was. You had to be there.

I would like to close this by saying thank you to Dave & Goose. It's been a good year and you two guys have worked hard to make sure that the fans always have a good time at these shows. Thanks, you guys are the best. I'd also like to thank my crew of concert buddies. Y'all are the best friends in the world. Let's continue our run through 2005. Y'all know I am up for a road trip. Let's get it done!

The Cory Morrow Band rolled into Sam Houston Racepark last night and I tell ya, they blew everyone right off of their feet. What a show last night. From the opening of "21 Days" to the finale of "Beer" they had the crowd wound up and rocking. The set list (courtesy of Dave) was as follows:

21 Days
Texas Time Travellin'
Wanna Go Home (Sparks' favorite)
Misty Shade of Blue
Are You Sure Hank Done It This way
Outside The Lines
Choices
Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay (not on set list, called in by Cory)
Highway
Light On The Stage
The Man That I've Been
More Than Perfect
Wrapped Up In Your Love
Restless Girl
Southern Nights
Nothin' Better
Love Me Like You Used To Do
Straight To Hell
Big City Stripper
Nashville Blues
Drink One More Round On Me
Beer (called in by Cory in place of "Magic Carpet Ride")

The whole band was on fire last night. John Carroll especially had our jaws dropping all night long. The way he makes that guitar sing is always amazing to me. He's the baddest axe slinger in Texas, hands down.

We had a HUGE Galleywinter turn out last night. I have never been to a show and seen so many Galley people in one place (besides Greenfest). There's something to be said when you can go to a show and be surrounded by people that you know from all over. We also got to meet a few Galleys for the first time last night. It always makes me smile when we get to meet new faces. I was going to try to list everyone that we met and saw last night but I think it will be impossible to do without missing someone and I don't want to chance that. Let me just say that I love hanging out with each and every one of you. This group, the Morrow Mob, is the best group of people to hang out with.

I made a couple of DDs last night. I know I called Lori and I hope that she could hear. Man, "Sittin On The Dock Of The Bay" was just smooth as silk and I was hoping that Lori could make it out. I also called Erin but I couldn't tell if she was on the line or not.

The next big GW show is 4/16 in Huntsville. We have two VIP tables and we will be burning it down once again. I want to see as many of you out there as possible.

I would like to thank Dave, Goose and Ryan for going all out to insure that we ALWAYS have a great time at the shows. Last night was way beyond the call of duty. Thanks you guys. You're the best crew on the road.

Until next time, keep it loud and be safe.

Outlaw

Cory, Billy Bobs, 4/29/05
I love my Cory!! My favorite quote from last night was while Stephanie and I were standing in line, there were three girls in front of us asking if I would take their picture with Cory. One girl looked at me and said that she'd never heard of Cory and her friend looked at me and said, "Oooooh, I love Cory so much." "But, do you love him more?"

That question caught me very much by surprise, to which I answered, "Why yes, I actually think I do." I'm proudly looking at my play list from last night as I type this, actually wishing that I had not gone to that concert. I let myself become sooo consumed when I see some of my favorite artists, and literally last night at Billy Bobs - except for when Stephanie was hanging on to me singing - I seriously forgot that there were about 499 other people in that hall with us.

I had not seen Cory since the last time he was at Billy Bobs, and although no concert I will ever attend could top that night, this night was particularly spectacular as well. I'll try to stay on target when I type the review and not let anymore feelings get in the way . . .

Stephanie drove to Fort Worth in her jeep that didn't have back windows and it was only about 40 outside so we froze, but went to Dos Gringos to eat some supper and got there 5 mins before happy hour was over - so we both had some big ass beers!! Supper was yummy and so we headed off to the Billy Bobs. We got there about 9:30ish and knew that Cory wouldn't go on till 10:30ish, so we got beer and walked around and eventually sat at a table by the little stage. The Bud Light girls were walking around handing out free beer, but seeing as I don't have a penis then I didn't get one - or a blinky thing, which by the way, I'm still a bit bitter about!!

99.5 The Wolf was there and they introduced Cory and the guys and the night got started pretty strong. Cory has LONG "Randy Rogers hair" and it is sooooooooo cute!! He started out with 21 Days . . . and the crowd went wild! No one stood up though - surprise! Then he went on and on about needing a hair cut and how it has gotten a bit out of hand, so the people sitting at the end of our table decide to hand him a card with a complimentary hair cut from some salon in the area. It was some funny shit!! Cory sang his heart out and several people handed him shot after shot and he made several jokes about how he's learned his lessons and he's a light weight now. There were WAY too many people handing him requests to say something and he finally just stopped. There was one that said, "Sheriff sends hugs." WTF??

So, there were a bunch of people on the side stage and I recognized Cory's father right away, but next to him was his sister. That was really cool. He talked to them quite a bit during the night. I just felt so honored and special to be there with family. Before Cory sang "Light on the Stage" he told the story about how he wrote this song when he moved out of the house and his parent's decided to turn his room and someone else's into their master bedroom.

Okay, so the set list looks like this:
21
Love Me
Wrapped
Outside
Misty
Light
Man
Runnin Around
Perfect
Highway
Preacher
Hank
TTT
Live 4 Eva
Drink Alone
Southern
Wanna Go
Nothin
Hell

Overall, I had a wonderful evening and I would especially like to thank the guy who was carrying around the camera and video camera on stage who put all the playlists at the edge of the stage. That was very nice of you!! I have one other Cory playlist, but this one is on official Cory Morrow Band stationary and as a scrapbooking fool this means so much to me!! Thanks to Cory and the Band for doing what you do every night!! Thanks to all the true fans at the Billy Bobs who stood with me throughout most of the night!! That is what a concert there is supposed to look like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much love . . . out - Kris

Midnight Ropeaho!!
First things first . . . some background info before our Midnight Rodeo experience began. Not the long version, but the very short one: This was my bachelorette weekend that started out at the hotel and on the way to Iron Cactus to eat we were in a minor fender bender where my friend Marcie hit two guys and they ran, we waited for APD for 35 mins and then we ran. We ate at Iron Cactus where they were having a private party ~ we got to see the beginnings of the final taping of the final episode of this seasons "The Real World." It was soooooooooo cool. Huge fan!!! Then we went back to the hotel and got ready and took cabs to MR. We had 13 girls and so three of the cabs cost us like $3.75 each, but the fourth cabbie took our friends "the long way", and we were at the LaQuinta across from MR - we were pissed - wound up being a $9 cab ride for them.

So, we didn't get into the club in time for Seth James, but judging from the reactions of the crowd - he must've put on one hullva show. Everyone was already so pumped up before Cory even went on. As soon as we walked in I was handed two bud lights, and one of my "tasks" from the "checklist" was to take three shots in a row. So I did something with Jager, something that had the words sex and alligator together, and of course . . . a blowjob. Fun times!!!

Cory jumped on stage somewhere after 11:00 ~ so we timed everything perfect. Just the same as last Friday, he was sooooooo energetic. Jumping and bouncing, and kneeling, and laying on the floor, and right up in the crowd. MR has these very large speaker boxes in a row at the front of the stage so you cannot get directly up to the stage, so it presented numerous opportunities for Mr. Morrow to get on there and get up in our faces and sing his heart out. He was still milking this whole Birthday thing, so that was funny.

I was smart and I passed up a note for him to say Happy Birthday Theresa (my momma who was with us), and he did. So a special thanks goes out to you for doing that Cory!!! She was sooooooo super excited. He only gave three bday shouts and he didn't drink at all. Of course, no one passed up any shots, but nonetheless, he wasn't drinking, which was okay because I drank enough for both of us . . . and Glenn . . . and Hoyt . . . and John. No Jessica Murray on Saturday. Not sure if she sang with Seth or if she was even there, but she didn't come out ~ oh well, maybe next time.

This show was different from last weekend in that Cory really didn't do much talking . . . just GREAT, great music playing!!! The guys did such a good job. The new bass guitar player seemed to be having a fun time too!

Cory did the exact same set list from Billy Bobs that looks like this:

21
Love Me
Wanna Go
Misty
Outside
Light
Man
Perfect
Wrapped
Highway
Southern
Runnin Around
Hank
TTT
Live 4
Drink Alone
Nothin
Hell
Stripper
Beer
___________
Nashville
Magic

He played such a great show and I'm just counting down the days until I get to see my next one, which won't be any time soon because I'm getting married next Saturday, but as usual I just have to say a HUGE thank you to Cory and the guys for making the miles to do what you do. He did soooo good to give us 13 girls the attention that we couldn't help but demand. SFP!!! He was jamming out to the song that he does the drumstick thing to (maybe Goin Straight to Hell?) and so he threw the drumstick towards my way - but the blonde next to me grabbed it out of my hand, and then he threw a guitar pic that landed on the floor right by my foot and the other blonde *just as I reached down to pick it up* put her FOOT RIGHT ON TOP of it. I really had to restrain myself to not beat up her toes. So, luckily he threw another one and it hit my friend Lauren in the head and she gave it to me.

Shouts to all my girls and the mommas who were there for the bachelorette party. Thanks to Lauren especially who took care of me in the drinks department, and the walking department, and the taking my boots off department. Thanks to all the people who said Congrats and who were so nice to me at MR! We'll have to do it again sometime.

Thanks for reading . . . sorry it is not as entertaining as usual, but I'm still lacking way too much in the sleeps department ~ full review of the whole weekend to come! WARNING: Read at your own risk!

Love to all ~ Kris

I went...Moe's sucks but its worth it for Cory. I was dissappointed in the sound. You could hardly hear Cory's Vocals. It was my first time to see Cory with the new bass player. He sounded good (could hear him and the band well). Despite it being at Moes, the show rocked! Cory and John were all over the place! I love his hair long! I was excited to hear some more new songs off the NLTH. I have heard Restless girl many times (LOVE IT!) and Choices. Tonight he played two new ones including the new single that wil be out on the 5th. I wish I could have heard the lyrics better. To the Beat of your Heart is awesome. The beat that John plays during (after?) the chorus is rockin'. They also played Heart of Fire and I think Cory sang Good Intentions on his own but like I said, I couldnt really hear Cory sing. We were right on the stage in our normal spot so I don't get why we couldn't here the vocals. Hopefully he will sing these new songs at Sam's Boat on the 26th so I can hear them better. Anyone been to a concert there? Never been to the Boat on Richmond...who's going? I REALLY wanna go to the MM on the 12th in Austin but I have grad class that Monday morning back here in H-Town at 8. Don't think that is very "do-able".
Talked to John brielfly after the show. I really hope that eventually they will remember us from show to show (we follow them enough). Hope Some of you mobbers come to the Sam's Boat show....I'm new to the forum but wanna meet you guys! Here is the rest of the set list that I was given:
21 Days
Love Me Like You used to do
Misty Shade of Blue
Wrapped up in Your Love
Outside the Lines
Don't Think Hank Done it this Way
Texas Time Travelin'
Wanna Go Home
More than Perfect
Light on the Stage
Man I've Been
Heart of Fire
Preacher
Restless Girl
Beat of your Heart
Southern Nights
Nothing Better
Straight to Hell
Big City Stripper
Good Intentions
Nashville Blues
Magic Carpet Ride

SMILES!

Venue: Palace Theatre, Corsicana Texas
Date: June 18, 2005

We made the run to Corsicana last night and I have to say, we are glad that we did. This wasn't your typical Cory Morrow show with hundreds or thousands of screaming fans, drunks, too much smoke or just plain wildness. This show was at the historic Palace Theatre in downtown Corsicana Texas. It was very, very cool to see Cory and the boys in this type of setting. There were maybe a hundred people at this show and it was seating only. The band was up on this really cool stage that was bathed in different colors of light from a really high tech light rig and sound system.
We got there at about 7:30 and we ran into Robb and we sat in the back row with him until a few seats in the front row came open early in the set and then we moved there. We were treated to a near musically perfect set that included:

Heart of Fire
Love Me Like You Used To Do
21 Days
Wrapped Up In Your Love
Outside The Lines
More Than Perfect
Light On The Stage
The Man That I've Been
Restless Girl
Southern Nights
Preacher
Beat of Your Heart (this song rocks twice as hard live!)
Red Bandana
Nothin' Better
A Whole Lot (also referred to as "Adios")
Texas Time Travellin'
Live Forever
Big City Stripper
----------------------
Good Intentions
----------------------
Nashville Blues
Magic Carpet Ride (the most sonic version I have ever heard)

This show featured the best sound acoustics of any Cory show that I have ever been to. I will admit, when we first got there I was having doubts due to the no standing deal but about 30 seconds into the first song it was apparent to everyone that this was a treat and we were lucky enough to be there. You could hear every little sound and you could hear it crystal clear. In fact, when my cell phone rang just before the final encore, Glen told me later that he could clearly hear it ringing and saw me fumbling to shut it off. The phone was ringing and I was like Yikes!

After the show there was a very casual meet and greet out on the sidewalk. We waited off to the side until Cory and the band had greeted everyone and then we hung out with the band and the crew and drank a couple of beers before saying goodnight.

Cory said to say thanks to all of you that have been calling and requesting "Beat of Your Heart" from the radio stations. Keep it up!

I would like to say thanks to the Palace Theatre for the great evening. I was very impressed.

Next weekend, Sam's Boat in H-Town. We are gona be outside, wild and loud.

In the meantime, keep calling the radio stations that we have listed and keep requesting.

HOLLA!

I took a few pictures last night with my phone. You can see the type of venue that Cory played at last night from these pics. Check 'em out here:

The Cory Morrow Band returned to Conroe last night with a show at Papa's On The Lake. The Mob was in full force last night and they were treated to one of the best shows that I, for one, have EVER seen them do. It was blistering hot and miserable but when Cory and the band hit the stage and started rockin' all of that was forgotten, Cory was back in Conroe!
The set list from last night was:

Heart of Fire
Love Me Like You Used To Do
Misty Shade of Blue
Outside The Lines
Good Intentions
21 Days
Southern Nights
Restless Girl
Adios (A Whole Lot)
Nothin' Better
Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way
Texas Time Travellin'
Live Forever
Drinkin' Alone
Beat Of Your Heart
Big City Stripper
Best Low
-------------------------

Will The Circle Be Unbroken (Cory acoustic)
Light On The Satge
Nashville Blues
Beer

I have to say that Cory's rendition of "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" was quite moving given the recent events in our country. You had to be there to fully understand what I am trying to say. Magic, pure magic.

Nee Nee, Lavinia, Robb, Tori, Audrey, Paul, Melissa, Danny, JesseLynn, Willey, Carrie Jo and our newcomers, Steve and Allison, it was great to spend an evening with you. Until next time......TURN IT UP!

Venue: The Exit Inn, Nashville TN

The Cory Morrow show actually started for us last night as we turned the corner to park and saw Cory and Dave standing outside of the Mexican restuarant next door to Exit In. The show had originally been advertised on the Exit In website as doors opening at 8, but when we got there, the door time had been changed to 9. So we went to the bar in the Mexican restaurant to take shelter from the freeeeeeeeeeeezing temperatures.

Cory and Dave were sitting in a booth, so we stopped and said hello to them and mentioned we had some CD inserts we would like to get signed later.

After warming up in the bar, we went next door and stood in line and chatted with some other fans. Finally, the doors opened and we were in -- the Exit In is a smaller venue, which made it easy to get close to the stage -- I did get some pictures, but I will have to download them from my camera when I get home and figure out where to put them so everyone can view them.

The opener was a guy named Buck Jones who is originally from Belton Texas but now lives in Nashville. He was pretty good and we picked up a copy of his CD there. He came over to our table and signed them and chatted with us for a few minutes -- really nice guy! While he was playing the last part of his set, Cory came strolling out onto the floor and was just hanging out. After Buck was done with his set, Cory posed with people for pictures and chatted with fans.

Then it was time for Cory... and yes, I can report that he did indeed BURN IT DOWN! Very, very high energy show!!

Here is the setlist:
Heart of Fire
(Love Me) Like You Used To
21 Days
Misty Shade of Blue
Outside the Lines
Good Intentions
More Than Perfect
Choices
The Preacher
Texas On My Mind
Restless Girl
A Whole Lot
The Mercenary Song
Nothing Better
The Light On The Stage (Sing With Me)
The Man That I've Been
Texas Time Travelin'
Beat Of Your Heart
Big City Stripper
Beer
Straight to Hell
Nashville Blues
The Best Low

Great, great show! Afterwards, Cory came out to the merchandise table and I now have a complete autographed collection of Cory CD's He was very sweet and kissed my hand after he signed all the CD's.

I made a DD to Outlaw and a couple to Erin -- hope you guys got them okay! I'll let you know when I get home and upload pictures.

Venue: Gruene Hall

Well gang I have to say that Saturday night was on hell of a show. I left Conroe about 1:30 and drove thru one hell of a rain storm on my way to visit my aunt in the hospital before heading out to Gruene. After having a nice visit with my Aunt and getting some good news on her condition I headed west at about 5:30. The rain had died down and the drive was nice, I was by myself and had Cory cranked up on the radio. I got the Greune about 8:30 ( sorry I missed the Gristmill) and met up with Outlaw and Susan and Rob. We hung out and listened to Blake and Fallon then it was time for our Boy to Burn it down. This show was a land mark on two fronts. First it was the eight consecutive sell out crowd for Cory at Gruene Hall! Second and in my opinion most important it had been 12 months since Cory been pulled over for any reason. Congrats to Cory for pulling all the pieces back together. With the new band members I was kind of nervous as to how the band would sound. Four songs in they lit into Misty Shade of Blue and my Jaw hit the floor. When the smoke cleared I leaned over to Outlaw and said "This band is going to be just fine!" From then on the rest of the night was magical. After the show I talked to Cory for just a minute and told him that the band sounded great and we would see him at the rodeo. Then I jumped in the car and headed back to Conroe. I got home about four in the morning, but it was well worth it.
Here is the set list.

Beat
Outside
My Way Home
Not Comin Home
Nothing Better
Light on the Stage
