In the interview I did with them for the new issue of LoneStarMusic Magazine, they mentioned they owed one more album to Universal South.

Small excerpt:

Cody: "...Bunch of jackasses. We got one more record after this one and we're done."

LSM: One more on the contract usually means a "Greatest Hits" package.

Cody: "Yeah, they tried to do that, but we don't have any hits."

The Guys should cover Thin Lizzy's "Cowboy Song" on this album of complete covers.

I think the original idea was that they strictly wanted to cover their friends so that Universal South would end up paying them all for royalties.

Yeah, and it takes me out there for a little while

But I'm back out on that road again,
turn this beast into the wind.

Yes, they said those words almost exactly in an interview.

When i was in Oklahoma at the Country Fever music festival in Pryor i picked up a copy of a paper called "The Current" and this was back in June when rumors of Ragweed releasing a double disc were going around and it had an interview with the band talking about how this was the original plan, but it was later scrapped and they released "Happiness and All The Other Things" which was one disc.
Last months issue of Texas Music magazine has a great story written about Ragweed and it mentions how the guys are going to record "Contractual Obligations" and how it will be an album of covers by all their favorite Oklahoma friends and influences like Tom Skinner, The Medicine Show, Mike McClure and the Great Divide and Bob Childers ect.
So that is where i got my information from as well as asking Cody in person on November 29th if this was still going to happen, he said yes and that right now they are looking at going into the studio in March. I also heard that another album might be recorded of new material that will be their first album without Universal South as their label. I don't know if this means that they are starting their own independent label then or not, but when i hear something i will put the word out.AMP (American Music Photography)

That was one of the first songs that came to VTS' mind. That would be an excellent choice.

When we were hanging out in GR Vinny, i over heard Cody mention To Jeremy that "We should do this song too" or something like that, and that song was one that was being played over the speakers, Deep Purple's "Highway Star" i think that would be cool, don't think it will happen but i bet it would kick ass.

Maybe Plato can do the intro screams.... VTS has heard him do a high pitch version of Angel of Death by Slayer before, so Highway Star should be cake. Laughing
