That's what the e-mail I got from Lost Highway said was the release date for the new cd. YAY!

I wish I knew! I think I heard Hayes say they had something like 20 songs recorded, and they were working on cutting it down from that. (I say do a 2 disc album Smile

) I can’t think of 20 songs that he is playing live that haven’t been released yet, so some of them will probably surprise us.

Just based on the new/new-to-Hayes songs that he's been playing at shows lately, I think he just **has** to put these songs on the album:

Beaumont
Drunken Poet’s Dream
I Got A Gig
Across My Floor
Faulkner Street
Bad Liver
Jesus
I Don’t Wanna Grow Up
Run Away Little Darlin’(title ??)

And some he's been playing for a while that he's never released:
Spring Wind
Everywhere
Aint Enough of Me

I would love for those songs to make it on the record, but the sad part is that I have them already from archive.org. And some of those versions are amazing on there.

Speaking of the Beaumont song.... Is it a cover or his own? I have been wondering and nobody that I know has heard it before. Although I will admit that Hayes pulls out some amazing covers that others don't play.

The only part that sucks is that there is NOTHING being released right now to hold me over. There hasn't been nothing released lately, but I think a lot will be in 2008. Hayes, Cory are supposed to be in April. Eli Young should soon. Isn't Wade working on his? Mike McClure should be working on his soon. Randy Rogers new stuff is sounding good, but I have no clue when it comes out. And when in the world is Roger Creager putting something out?

I'm just afraid its all going to come out at the same time and I won't be able to buy/listen to it all.

i haven't been able to see Hayes in over a year...what's wrong with that song (jesus)? I'm hoping he'll have some austin shows around the release date as I will be there around that time.

Saw him at the Granada the other night. One of the best shows that I have been to in awhile. The toga outfit was halarious!
